The Urban Forestry Commission has the responsibility to look at issues concerning trees with proposed developments and make recommendations to the Planning and Zoning Commission. They also may look at city property and make recommendations to the Parks Department or the Public Works Department concerning issues regarding city streets, campus, other facilities such as parks, or city maintained rights of way.

It shall consist of 5 members to be appointed by the Mayor with approval of the Board of Aldermen. Each member shall serve for a two year term.
